On the corner plot, two buildings, each with 42 apartments and a cafe, were designed, which were placed as mirror images of each other on the plot. Between the two buildings, open-air and closed car parking spaces have been created on the ground floor. The remaining areas of the plot were landscaped, thus we kept the good ratio of paved and green surfaces.

On the ground floor, on the opposite side of the garages, there are apartments with private garden connections. The intermediate 3 floors have the same floor plan, but the second floor is mirrored, so the building creates the effect of waving. There are 2 penthouses on the top floor of both buildings, which offer a great view of the Balaton and provide an excellent place for evening parties. The apartments can be accessed from the glass-roofed, atrium-like interior circulation space, thus increasing the standard of the building.
Based on the mechanics of the Rubik’s cube, we twisted the balconies of the apartments. The resulting frames create the intimacy of the balconies and separate them from each other, as well as provide shading. With this gesture, we combined form with function. These elements are moved alternately on each level, thus making the appearance of the building even more dynamic. This also gives rise to the fantasy name of the building, the wavebreak. Each balcony has a small plant box with pre-installed plants with a watering system. The most spectacular view of the building is the corner, where the volume of the transition is best felt. This is made possible by the very precise geometric design.
